Why Such A Low Price?

You'd Notice "Celine" Dress Forms Costs Less than Diana or Lady Valet

Because they are design to be budget-friendly,
and Adjustoform is still the Maker.

YES, it's True - Celine is Produced by Adjustoform UK - Genuinely from England - same as the others.

Although they are British-Made , some components are sourced elsewhere, making them more affordable if you're just starting out.

Unlike many other cheaper dressmaker's dummies (mostly made in China), you will find these quite well-made for their price range - and definitely MORE stable because of the base (I know because we've tested them)....

Still, it's important to keep in mind that
Celine Forms are designed as Budget Range Mannequins....

So while the quality of these Celine mannequins is quite decent (and definitely better compared to some other non-branded, China-made models you tend to find on eBay and other places), they are  made to suit a budget price compare to our other UK Adjustoform Mannequins are famous for.

The main difference is in the adjustors (which is the wheels that makes them go larger or smaller). The dressmaker's dummies in the Celine range are lighter and measurments are not marked on them.

Why are we selling these then?

Because they ARE a great option for anyone with a limited budget to work with, and still want good quality within that budget. Plus as they are part of the Adjustoform family - so you can rest assured that they are produced by a reputable manufacturer!

So if You're in the market for a
Budget Dressmaker's Dummy, Read On....

Imagine if you could

Whip up all the dresses you've ever fallen in love with - in blogs, magazines, Instagram & Pinterest...

If Only .......

You already have a sewing assistant next to you - to help you with fitting - from start to finish.

Wouldn't it be good to have a body double - in your exact measurements - so that you can get the perfect fit - first time, everytime?!

If you're looking at this Dressmaker's Dummy, chances are...

  • You're learning to sew, and you need one for fitting & draping.
  • You sew for others, but struggled with fitting when they're not there in person.
  • You're making something special for yourself, and fed up with trying on half-pinned garments all day long!

You're not alone. Work-in-progress Dress fitting is fiddly (and full of pins) - but unavoidable. Because getting the right fit depends on it.

"This mannequin was exactly what I was looking for.

I work on a lot of costumes and I've been searching for an inexpensive, simple mannequin with a heavy base.

Of course I prefer the ones with nice wooden base, but the price on ths one was very reasonable and I was very pleased of the quality of it.

Having the optional wheels is also a very nice touch, it's sturdy and it doesn't look cheap AND it was very simple to put together (it took a total of 2 minutes). I'll be using it with all my projects now and I couldn't be happier with it."

- Laura, a Happy Customer

What if getting your dress to fit perfectly was easier than you think?

Often the hard part is to come up with exactly the right tool, for the right job, at the right price. Of course, there is no doubt that in order to create beautiful garments, you need to practice.....

But the first step is having the right equipment on hand.

The Secret of Perfect Fitting is with an Adjustable Mannequin (that acts as your body double while you work).

Simply adjust the dials to your body measurements - then pad her up to reflect your shape because no two people have the same curves :-)

NOTE: photo shows all sizes available in the Celine range.
Please double check YOUR measurement to ensure that you've ordered the right size for you.

Here's a little bit of insider information...

Having worked for a decade or so behind the scene in the clothing industry, I was formally trained as a Fashion Designer - and later spent 10 years teaching others the joy of sewing. I like to share insider tricks, and I believe in doing things properly.

Now, let me share a little-known secret from behind the scene...

Store-bought sewing patterns rarely fit properly, straight out of the pack.

The best way to achieve perfect fitting is to simply make a "trail" garment in calico first, put it on the dummy, then complete the fitting by pinning and making adjustments. If you didn't have time to do this, at least check your pattern by pinning it on the mannquin first.

Taking the time to do the fitting properly on your mannequin is worth your while - because it will give you a custom-fit result, also avoid wasting time and  good fabric!

Think About it...

Most sewing patterns (such as McCall's, Butterick, Simplicity & Vogue) are made with the average population in mind.

But since when are you merely  average, anyway?!

How would store-bough patterns fit you any better - if you're having trouble buying stroe-bought clothes in the first place. Right?

By working with YOUR own body double -  you can be 100% Confident of a Perfect Fit - simply by starting with an Adjustable Mannquin that's been set up to replicate you!

"This dress form makes sewing a LOT easier, and it was probably the fastest thing I ever assembled. It was really easy and didn't require any tools.

The surface is pin-able (though you do need to pin at an angle), and I like how the colour is very neutral - makes it easier to visualise how your garment is going to look, and also stands out a lot more than if it was solid white or black because white and black are the materials I use the most.

For the price, the quality is much better than I expected. You can certainly pay a lot more for a top-of-the-range one. For me, I'm happy with this."

- Elizabeth, a Happy Customer

So, How Does an Adjustable Dress Form Help?

A dress form will make garment making and alterations easier, more satisfying and more rewarding than you ever thought possible.

It's the only sure way of achieving a really professional look and a bespoke fit to garments, whether you're making clothes for yourself or someone else.

When the adjustable dressmaker's dummy has been adjusted to specific measurements it becomes a replica of you (or your friend, or family member... whomever the garments are for).

And that's why tricky tasks like pattern fitting, fabric pinning, tacking, setting in of sleeves and darts, and many more tricks of the trade can be carried out on the mannequin, avoiding the irritation (not to mention the waste of time) of constantly trying the garment on, and taking it off, and back on again...

Hey, making your own clothes is supposed to be FUN, remember?

"I find the adjustment pretty easy with this dummy. I make garments on it and they end up fitting me perfectly.

I like the padding and cover for pinning. It adjusted to my exact height. I recommend it for the average seamstress who sews for herself and needs a dummy that once adjusted it is there waiting. I wouldn't want to muck around too much with mine now that I've got it just right for me.

Still, I'm glad I've bought it becasue I had trouble finding other options in my price range, "

....... she might just be the dressmaking buddy you need!!

An ideal sewing companion, Celine is a fully adjustable dress form.

She can help you with:

  • pattern adjustments before cutting,
  • better fittings and alterations, and
  • an opportunity to learn draping - just like they do in a real couture in Paris or Milan!!!

Sounds Exactly Like the kind of Help You Need?
Why Not Get One and Experience it Yourself...!

"I love my new dressmaking dummy. It is very light weight with a heavy base, comes with optional castors if you want it on wheels, and the included hem marker makes it easy to neaten a hem.

The material covering is easy enough to pin things to and there is nothing better than using it for "trying" things on... no more poking myself with pins.

This is not a super heavy duty dress form, so don't plan to use it with something that weighs a ton. But for the price, it works just fine for everything that I have used it for.."

"I was somewhat skeptical without seeing one in real life - worried that it might be flimsy and hard to assemble or thard to adjust. Well I am glad I bought one.

The Celine mannequin is very easy to assemble, and I'm impressed by how sturdy the base is.

Yes, it does take some time to adjust the measurement to match your own size, it needs to be done gradually - be gentle and patient. All up it took me only 15 minutes to have it just right for my size.

I think this is an excellent value for the money and does exactly what it is advertised for."

Unlike many other cheaper dressmaker's dummies (mostly made in China), you will find these quite well-made for their price range - and definitely MORE stable because of the base (I know because we've tested them)....

That's because the manufacturer, The Adjustoform (A. E. And that's why they won't risk their reputation just to save a few bucks so you know you CAN trust the quality!

Do I Really Need a Dressmaker's Dummy...?

More to the point: Can you really do without one....?

If you're interested in designing and making your own fabulous outfits, a career in fashion / costume design, an income from dressmaking or alterations, or simply need to whip up a batch of bridesmaids dresses for a wedding (whether it is you own or for someone dear to you)..... you'll need a dress form.

A dressmaker's model is invaluable in garment making....

  • whether you sew for yourself or others
  • whether you are a beginner or a professional dressmaker
  • you will become quite attached to your new sewing assistant!

Would it Work for You?
Why Not Give it a Go!

Think about what you can do with your own adjustable mannequin....

  • Check the drape of fabric. Is your fabric suitable for the pattern you have selected?
  • Style an outfit by draping co-ordinating fabrics together, to see how they would look for, say, a jacket and shirt.
  • Fit a tissue pattern straight from the pack, or one that you've drafted yourself
  • Check the placement of darts, pockets and buttonholes.... do they look right where they are? Be sure... because once they are there, you can't really un-do them!
  • Establish the position of collars and lapels. This alone will make a difference in whether your garment looks professional or amateurish.... and you know which one you want to be!
  • Position lace, trims, ribbons and appliques on garments. Embellishments should NOT take over.. they need to be just right.
  • Check or plan the placement for machine embroidery designs. Nothing worse than a badly placed motif or logo!
  • Pin sleeves in position, based on your shoulder length. Tack in place, then machine stitch. Easy!
  • Check the placement of shoulder pads. Old tailors do it for that tailor-made look. Now you can too.
  • Mark hems for alteration. Never put up with wonky hems again!
  • Fit and hang wedding gowns as you sew.... and same goes for formals and bridesmaids dresses too.
  • Check the ease and hang of a lining. You don't want to get caught with linings too tight or too loose!
  • Pick out your completed outfit for work or play the night before, so getting ready to head out the door is totally stress-free (and you will never be late again because you won't have to decide what to wear last minute)...!

So the question is: Can YOU Really Do Without a Dress Form??

Why Not Grab Yours NOW....!

"I purchased this dress model because I have been doing a substantial amount of sewing and fed up with taking off my clothes and trying on my work-in-progress to see if they fit. I thought this model was a decent price and figured it'd make my life easier.

I didn't have trouble setting the size at all. You have to just be careful and make sure that you are opening all the dials evenly.

When you take it out of the box it is at the smallest setting, so if you have to open it out to the largest setting, open each dial with the key about 1/2 way out and then go back around and open the rest of the way.

Even though the body itself is very light wieght, the base is heavy so the whole thing was quite stable. This is probably the best on the market for the price."

So, How Do I Make Adjustments on the Mannequin ?

Before you begin to adjust the dressmaker's model to specific measurements, expand the body by loosening all the adjusters evenly, in small increments at a time.

We suggest you make the adjustments, working from the hip level upwards.

This will release any tension on the body and will make subsequent adjustments smoother.

It will also help you to familiarise yourself with the operation of the adjusters (i.e. dials or wheels)... these are for adjusting the measurements at bust, waist and hips.

Get to know your dress form

Your dress form will either have dials or wheels (See Figs 4 and 5).

Fig 4 shows the 'dial' system. Select the dial you wish to set, steady the model with one hand and with the other hand squeeze the adjuster together. To increase the measurement, turn clockwise until the indicator points to the required measurement on the outer ring, and then release to lock in place.

Fig 5 shows the 'wheel' system. Adjustments are made by turning the wheels downwards to increase the size and upwards to reduce.

The neck design for your mannequin will have either a dial or a knob (See Fig 6 and 7).

In Fig 6 the neck is adjusted by pushing in the knob in the centre of the neck at the same time as turning it in a clockwise direction. A useful Pin Cushion is provided in the neck cap.

In Fig 7, slightly unscrew the Pin Cushion and turn the Top Cap in a clockwise direction until the size required registers with the marker at the front of the model. Re-tighten the Pin Cushion. If your dress model is a Junior size, adjust the neck slightly, loosen the top knob and move the sections equally to the size required. Re-tighten the knob firmly.

NOTE: photo shows all sizes available in the Celine range.
Please double check YOUR measurement to ensure that you've ordered the right size for you.

Hot Tip:
As you adjust - always use a tape measure to ensure the measurements are accurate.

NOTE: photo shows two different size.
Please double check YOUR measurement to ensure that you've ordered the right size for you.

What's involved in the Assembly?
Is it Easy to put together?

Yes, definitely - and you DON'T need special tools to do it!

Once you've unpacked and unwrapped all the bits and pieces from the box, you will find a 5 point star base, and a pole with a ribbed end.

Simply insert the ribbed base into the centre of the 5 point star.

Make sure the pole is firmly clicked into the base.

You should end up with something like this:

At this point, the base is ready for the mannequin torso.

If you'd like to have her on wheels, then simply click the castors into place.

You can decide whether you'd like yours with or without wheels.

Now the mannequin. You'd find a wooden finial ith an extra long screw.....

Place the torso of your mannequin on a flat surface, and  carefully attach the finial onto the neck with a screw driver. Make sure it is attached firmly because this will be your neck dial.

Now, carefully place the torso of your mannequin onto the pole, making sure that the pole goes into the centre tube of the torso, and there is at least a decent length of pole inside the tube (I'd recommend no less than the width of your hand). This is important for stability.

Finally, she's ready for action! What would YOU like to make first?

Ok... How Do I Take My Own Measurements in the first place?

Let's face it... we ALL know that a professional looking garment which flatters your figures can also enhance the image you present to the rest of the world, and how you FEEL about yourself.

To make sure you can achieve this, an accurate set of body measurements is essential, so that you can adjust your new dress form to as close a copy of your body as possible.

Ask someone to help you in checking and recording your basic body measurements. When measuring, pull the tape snugly, but not too tightly, around the fullest part of the area being measured.

Take the measurements listed below and note them on the diagram. Include your required length for trousers/pants if your model includes a trouser/pants making option.

Before making any specific adjustments (Fig 1), adjust the height of the model to ensure that the shoulders are exactly level with your own shoulder height (this is where help from a friend is particularly important).

Now, take some measurements of yourself (with a friend's help).

Remember to wear only your usual underwear when you do this....

These are the essential measurements:
  • Back Waist Length    Measure from the nape at the base of the neck down to the natural waistline
  • Bust    Measure straight across widest part of back, under arms and across fullest part of bust
  • Waist    Measure around natural waistline
  • Hips    Measure around fullest part - usually 17.7cm - 22.8cm (or 7" - 9") below waist. Make a note of the distance between waist and hips.

Can't Wait to Enjoy Perfect Fit?
  Get Yours Today.

Hot Tip:
Always select skirt or pants pattern size according to hip measurement.

(Because any necessary waist adjustment is relatively simple)

These are measurements you will probably need:
  • Neck    Measure around fullest part of neck
  • Skirt length    Measure from floor (wearing shoes with appropriate height heel) to your required skirt length.
  • Pants length    This is a personal choice. Decide on Capri, ankle or boot leg style, and measure accordingly.

Other useful measurements you are likely to need in garment making:
  • Sleeve Length
  • Shoulder Width
  • Shoulder to Elbow
  • Inside Pants Leg
  • Outside Pants Leg

"I love how this mannequin does NOT wobble!

The body itself is lightweight and the whole thing assembles very quickly.

I had no trouble chaging it to my shape as I had watched some YouTube videos on this subject. So, what I did was adjust the hips and waist to my size first.

For a better bust shape, I put one of my own bras on it and stuffed it with tissue to get my upper measurement. It took not more than 10 minutes to do all of this and I was ready to use it.

With the heavy base it's stable and I like how it spins so I can work with different sides of a garment from one spot.

Am so happy with mine. Give it a go!"

- Jen, a Happy Customer

What if I'm... umm, bigger in some areas...?

Easy, pad her up where you need to :-)

Your new dress model has been designed to accommodate as many and varied adjustment needs as possible.

However, there will be occasions when the model has been adjusted, but additional padding is required in order to achieve the accurate measurement in a specific area.

For Example - where bust and waist have been adjusted to the correct size, but the hip area needs to be adjusted beyond the capability of the hip adjusters, or, one hip is higher than the other.

There is a simple solution to this, and with the use of padding, you can achieve the required measurement so your dressmaker's dummy has YOUR exact shape and measurements!

I'm short-waisted. Is the torso length adjustable?

Yes - the torso length IS adjustable - though it can only be lengthened.

The shortest it will go is the way it comes in - it doesn't get any shorter. I'm also short waisted and have the same issue with torso length.

The solution is simple:
you can pad the hip / waist area of the mannequin slightly so that the thinnest part on her is higher (if you know what I mean).

That way the distance between the bust and waist would be reduced to fit your own measurement. This solution works for a lot of people, including myself.

Tempted to Try?
Sure - Just Add to Cart Now!

Hot Tip: For a REALLY accurate bust line - fit your own comfortable bra onto the mannequin and use padding to fill out the cups.

Use measuring tape, and add padding, until correct measurement and shape is achieved.

Here's a list of other ideas to try :

  • Hips and Bust - Use polyester batting, cotton wool, or foam to pad out certain areas. (See Fig 2 above). Then cover areas with a thin bias cut fabric and pin or tape in place.
  • Shoulders - If one shoulder is lower than the other, layer strips of polyester batting over shoulder area to build it up.
  • Waist - Use thin strips of foam, distributed evenly round the waist. Build up thickness until correct measurement is achieved.
  • Filling in the Gaps - If you have made widening adjustments to the model, attach a strip of wide tape or ribbon to fill in the open areas.
  • Cover - If you wish, you could make a stretch cover for your dress form to hide any padding you have added. Or, simply put a skivvy on her!

"I was pleasantly surprised by how easily this adjusted to my exact size. I have trouble using sewing patterns because the sizing is always weird, so I was very excited to find the adjustable variety.

The measurements are accurate, though you may need to add to the breasts if youhave a larger cup size (it only adjusts to measurements, NOT cup size). I found putting my bra on it worked well.

The padded covering is easy to pin - though you do need to pin in an angle. The body itself is rather flimsy because it's hollow - but given the price, this was no surprise.

Overall, I am pleased. So far, it has enabled me to easily alter several patterns for dresses and skirts so they fit perfectly."

"Love this! Purchased to help with my daughter's upcoming wedding (her dress and mine). Chose it because the base seems sturdy. It was.

I am extremely happy with this adjustable dress form. You have to adjust it a little at a time and alternate each area to be adjusted, but it adjusts just fine.

My waist is bigger than the typical hour glass figure so I used some of the bubble wrap to pad up the middle for my exact size and it worked great. I am very happy with the form overall.

As a sewer this has truly come in handy. The products works exactly as described, all parts of the form extend outwards or inwards even the neck. AWESOME!!"

She is thrilled with its quality and how professional it looks. She had tried to find something locally and i told her I would just order one. I looked over all the ones available and this was the best value and I liked that it was also great for altering clothes.

Highly recommend this item!"

When you try to do dressmaking or alteration WITHOUT a dress form to work with, you will find:

  1. A seemingly simple project takes forever to complete.... because you keep on putting it on (to check the fit), taking it off (to work on it). Not fun.....
  2. You end up unpicking a finished garment because you're just NOT happy with how it fits on you... and you have to start from scratch all over again. NOOOOO!!!!!
  3. Worse of all, it's very likely that you could run out of fabric, or patience, or BOTH!

"I've wanted one of these for years and finally decided to treat myself.

Before ordering - pay close attention to your measurement (not just size) because clothes sizes are unreliable these days.

I had to adjust my dress form for increasing the waist and hips. The neck and bust were perfect as is. When I began to adjust the sizing I went slowly and adjusted a little at each of the four adjustment points at the waist. Then adjusted the hips in the same manner. Don't over-stretch the adjuster or it might not come back to size.

If you find the gaps annoying (as I do), purchase some quilters batting to pad and cover the gaps. Then put an old t-shirt to cover the batting and you're ready to go.

Overall, I'm happy with mine - wish I got one years ago!"

Now, Let's Get Your Order On Its Way To You!

How long will it take to receive my order?

All fully paid orders placed by 5pm Monday to Thursday will be processed overnight and ready to send by our warehouse - normally the next day or following business day.

Orders placed on Friday and Weekends will be processed on Sunday night - because our warehouse operates Monday to Friday except Public Holidays.

Once it leaves our warehouse, the actual time frame is up to the delivery services. This can vary depending on your location and road conditions.

Any delivery time estimates shown are estimates only - so please use it as a guide line.

You'll receive a few email updates from our system as your order progresses, so please stay tuned on these!

secure paymentHow will my order be sent?

We use a dispatch system that works out the most efficient way to send your order.

This way the postage works out fair and reasonable, and your parcel reaches you quickly as well - because we know you can't wait!
That means your parcel may reach you by either Courier or Aust Post.

In general, larger items tend to be delivered by couriers, while small items tend to go by Aust Post.

How is my postage calculated?

Great question.

Depending on weight and dimension, some times we are able to do Flat Rate across Australia, so the postage is the same no matter where you are.

Other times we use the Built-in Calculated system provided by Aust Post, and your postage is calculated based on YOUR location.

Can I get it delivered to my P.O. Box?

Depends on the item (and its dimensions), because Aust Post have size restrictions and couriers are NOT allowed to deliver to a P.O. Box.

Please check with us when in doubt.

If you have nominated a P.O. box, and the item is within Aust Post size, then it will go by Aust Post. Most of the time, this is the case.

When your item is too big, or being sent directly from our supplier, then we need you to provide a physical address so we can send a courier.

Can I get my order sent to a different delivery address?

Your sure can!

When you check out, you can choose to ship your order to your billing address or a different address.

Simply choose the second option, and then fill in the shipping address of where you want you parcel sent.

Please double check we have Your Correct Address so your order can find its way to you!

What if courier services are not available in my area?

Some locations are outside of courier services....

In these cases we CAN arrange for your order to be deliverd to your local post office.

But please provide us with a street address (street number & name) - even if it is the only Post Office in town - as if it is an office address.

A phone number would help too - this will avoid delays.

What if I need my order urgently?

No worries, we will do our best. Just let us know.

Please give us as much notice as possible - especially for special occasions like birthdays!

In most cases, we CAN arrange an upgrade from Regular Post to Express Post for a little extra.

Please contact us first so we can update your invoice to show the correct amount.

Do you offer combine shipping?
I want to order more than one item...

Sure! Please "Add to Cart" for all the items you want and let the system work it out for you.

If you're unsure, let us know. A quick message is all we need.
This way we can double check the postage for you. Simple!

Can I pick up my order?

No. Sorry - unless you're picking up furniture directly from our supplier.

Because most of our items are located in a commercial warehouse - with NO public acess.

There is no shop front - because that's how we can pass on the savings to you!

Some useful things you might want to know:
    • Combined Shipping - We are happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases based on the combined weight and dimensions of your items, so add what you like to cart as you go, and check out our shop to see what else you like... you never know what you might find!
    • All items we sell are Stored in a Clean and Smoke Free Environment so You can Rest Asured they will be In Top Condition when they arrive at your place.
    • Packaging & Sending - All your items will be packed well and we do everything we can to make sure you package arrives safely. In the unlikely event something does go wrong with your package, please contact us via email. We do our best to resolve any concerns.
    • Prompt Shipping - Your package will be sent to you promptly once payment is cleared. In most cases it will be dispatched the next business day.
    • Packaging Materials - We endeavour to support "green policies" and recycle clean packaging materials whenever possible. Brand names on packaging material may not necessarily match the content.
The Courier Needs Your Phone Number

When you're completing check-out please make sure your best day time phone number is included - because the courier requires a phone number.

Generally they may never ring you -  and they tend to just turn up anyway. But their office needs to have your phone number on file for "just-in-case".

If you have any special delivery instructions, please let us know.

It is best to providing these details by sending us a quick message - this means your parcel will be dispatched to you faster.

Act Now and We'll Get It To You ASAP!

Celine Dressmakers Mannequin
By: on 18 March 2021

I was delighted when Celine arrived within 5 days of ordering. I was unsure if I had ordered the correct size so talking to Shelly was very helpful in determining if I had ordered correctly. I was also given the option to exchange if I felt the size was not right. I spent some time checking, measuring, adjusting and padding some areas and found it to be perfect. Many thanks for your support, flexibility and ease of purchase. Happily sewing Kath
