If you're looking at this Janome Coverstitch Machine, chances are...

  • You've outgrown using twin needles on your machine to mock coverstitching.
  • You sew a lot of knit fabric, and need profession results, fast.
  • You want a quality coverstitch machine in addition to your overlocker.

Feeling nervous because you're unfamiliar with coverstitch machines and not sure what to expect? You're not alone...

"When the coverstitch function broke on my Pfaff Coverstyle and the repair shop said that they could no longer get hold of the spare part, I decided to fork up the money and buy the Janome Coverpro. Because I sew so much knit garments and was getting increasingly frustrated with how badly the Pfaff was performing when it came to the coverstitch.

I’ve used the Coverpro now for three months and feel it’s time to share how I feel it’s performing.

It’s a sturdy high quality machine that is very reliable when it comes to sewing consistently good cover hems and stitches. Compared to my old Pfaff, the Janome is just miles better when it comes to working smoothly and not mess up the stitches, even when it comes to more challenging fabrics.

While it may seem a lot to pay for a machine that basically does variations of one type of stitch,  for me it’s a no brainer because I sew a lot of knits.

I tried to hem a lycra/rayon knit with a twin needle on my regular sewing machine and it was a disaster. Around the same time I was introduced to a coverstitch machine and I knew I to shell out the dough if I wanted to continue sewing knit garments.

And I have not looked back."

CoverPro Does ONE Thing. Extremely Well.

Your New Janome 2000CPX will soon become your best friend for creating commercial style finishing - especially for knit fabrics.

Let's Find Out  Why You'll LOVE this Machine....

  • PERFECT FOR ACTIVEWEAR

Fitness, dance, yoga, and gymnastics outfits are perfect projects for a CoverPro2000CPX. Use the Triple Coverstitch to replicate a flatloack seam. Apply elastic with your overlocker and fold it to create a casing - and finish by encasing the elastic with CoverPro with a beautifully professional finish – all in one pass.

Save money &  Create your own activewear - so long, Lulu Lemon!

  • QUICK REFERENCE CHART

Located inside the front of the machine for easy access, this full colour reference guide helps you adjust for a soft or tighter stitch without searching through the manual.

The chart clearly displays available stitches, and shows the tension settings for both soft and tighter seams. A colour-coded threading chart located in the looper area means guess-free and super quick threading.

It's handy to  have help - exactly where you need it most.

  • EASY LOOPER THREADING

Simply release the lower looper, pull the thread through, push the looper close, and you're ready to stitch. Feel comfortable and confident right away -  even if you're an absolute beginner!

  • SUPERIOR NEEDLE SYSTEM

Like industrial machines, CoverPro uses the Schmetz ELX705 needle system (but takes all brands of needles). This special needle has a long groove front and back. It's more reliable than the HAX1SP needle - which is essentially designed for overlockers only.

Stick to the right type of needles and you can  always enjoy top-quality professional finish!

  • FREE ARM CONFIGURATION / LARGE BED SPACE

Finish sleeves, cuffs, waistbands and other hard-to-reach seams  fastereasier and with  better results - without over-stretching your fab ric. When you're done, simply switch back to full flat bed sewing in seconds!

  • ONE HAND THREAD CUTTER

Just like a sewing machine, you can clip your thread tails in one neat and easy motion. It's the little thing that makes your sewing session more  efficient and  productive.

What is Coverstitch, exactly?

Coverstitch is everywhere. Turn your t-shirt inside out now.

Chances are -  your hem has two rows of stitches on the right side, and the revers die looks a bit like regular overlocking between the two rows of stitches. Am I right?

That, is your Coverstitch. That's what finishes stretch garments properly.

When professionals in the fashion industry finish a garment, they don’t just hem it on a sewing machine. They use a cover hem stitch - because it is the neatest hem finish while maintaining stretch from the fabric for practicality. Always the preferred finish for t-shirts and activewear.

Now you can achieve the same professional results with the CoverPro 2000CPX from Janome. It gives you the perfection of an industrial model with the ease-of-use of domestic sewing machine.

Completely different to your overlocker - your CoverPro hasn't actually have a knife.

It's a high-speed, long arm, heavy-duty cover hem machine that looks and operates more similarly to a sewing machine - except it has multiple cones of threads and takes up to three needles.

Janome CoverPro 2000CPX does NOT replace your regular overlocker. Instead, it compliments your sewing mahine and overlocker - and gives you the winning trifacta!

Imagine: you'll be able to replicate all of the commercial garment finishing -  QuciklyEasily - so that your handmade clothes won't look "homemade"!

Imagine the possibilities...

You KNOW you're creative, and you LOVE to sew.

Imagine arming yourself with your new Janome CoverPro to happily work along side your sewing machine and overlocker....

You will find it easy to use and reliable - that means you can complete projects quickly and effortlessly , so you can show everyone your creation on the weekend!

An all-rounder for proffessional finishing, the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX is a simple joy to operate, and gives you satisfying results!

Choose from these  stitche variations to tailor-suit your garment:

  • Triple Cover Stitch (3-needle, 4-thread)

This is a fantastic stitch for activewear because the reverse side looks very similar to the flatlock stitches in store bought activewear. To achieve this look  - first sew the seams your overlocker, then cover the seams with the triple 3 needle coverstitch. For better seam coverage you can use woolly nylon in the lower looper.

  • Wide Cover Stitch (2-needle, 3-thread)

This is the classic coverstitch, and it might be the stitch you will use the most. It produces a great stitch pattern and covers the folded edge beautifully. Perfect for hemming garments, especially for tops, skirts, lounge pants and dresses in knits. Also great if you are making belt loops for jeans.

  • Narrow Coverstitch (2-need;e, 3-thread)

Works the same way as the wide coverstitch, the narrow seam is mostly used for hemming sleeves, necklines and leggings - where a narrower hem looks more balanced in proportion. You can use it to make thin straps for top and dresses too.

  • Chain Stitch (1-needle, 2-thread)

Perfect for professional looking topstitching on jeans, you'll find the chain stitch is commonly used in commercial garment production for denims. Never pay retail for designer denims - ever again!

Did You Know.....

There are Not One, but TWO -  Exclusive Features that makes Janome CoverPro 2000CPX  the most advanced coverstitch machine for domestic use.

These are:

  • Seam Tightening Systems (STS)
  • Tension Level Control (TLC)

What do they actually do?

Seam Tightening Systems (STS)

Janome’s exclusive Seam Tightening System employs a spring instead of the looper thread tension dial, which helps to reduce slack in the looper thread.

This allows for a tight, flat, and sturdy stitch on thick fabrics, and a looser stitch on fabrics that require more flexibility.

Best thing about the STS?

It happens it automatically - without any efforts from you.

Tension Level Control (TLC)

TLC doesn't stand for "tender loving care" here - and we don't mean the band, either.

It stands for "Tension Level Control" - it's a new feature that give you better control of handling different fabric weight.

You can easily change from heavier cotton knits or denim to fine tricot, light cotton, sheer curtaining or silky fabrics at the flip of a switch!

With TLC, there's no need to adjust tension for flat seams and even stitching when switching between fabric types.

This unique feature works by tightening or softening the looper tension for smooth stitching on a wide variety of fabrics.

Equipped with optimum operational efficiency, and an intuitive ability to handle all types of fabrics, you new Janome CoverPro will surprise you with how easy and enjoyable coverstitching can be!

Try Them Out - and Experience the Difference.

Still Deciding?

Here's what one (of many) happy customers had to say after purchasing their Janome CoverPro:

"I already owned an overlocker and sewing machine so I avoided getting a coverstitch machine for sometime. However, I could just not get the types of hems I wanted with my twin needle on the sewing machine. I finally bought this machine and am glad that I did. The hems come out beautifully and I find it easy to thread.

The machine is far more solid than I'm used to. Hems beautifully. Heavyduty and fast, it  feeds well like a good overlocker, but the extra room is good for top stitching and maneuvering in general.

I use the chain stitch a lot for basting, really easy to pull out if you don't anchor it. My sewing machine won't baste knits or slippery athletic mesh without lots of puckering. I also use the chain stitch for strong seams on wovens.

It seems like most people use this just for hemming, but I'm finding more uses as I play around. Lots of good YouTube tutorials, all the attachments and feet look interesting that you could buy separately.

Very happy with my purchase."

Not All Sewing Machines Are Made Equal...

Take a peek: an X-Ray view if you will.

As a demonstration - take a look inside a Janome JR1012 (for example) with a see-through exterior.

You can easily see - inside every Janome there is REAL metal (aluminium die-cast to be exact) that can be found in even the most inexpensive, entry level Janome.

The die-cast aluminium frame in a Janome provides the strength and stability required for the precise action of the sewing machine needle and mechanism.

The exterior is just that - a shell - and not part of the structure of the machine.

Unfortunately there are other brands of sewing machine on the market in Australia right now that have no internal frame (let along metal). It means the components are merely attached to the outer plastic shell of the machine. There is simply not enough rigidity for high speed movements!

With Janome, there is always inner structrual support  which means your sewing machine performs better, and it lasts longer. Buy Well, Buy Once.

So if You're Ready....
All You Need to Do is Place Your Order.

"I just received mine a few days ago so my experience with it is very limited but so far I'm in love.

It's a great machine, worked right out of the box. I've practiced on scrap fabric and just completed one garment and it did beautifully.

This machine takes a little getting used to if you haven't used a coverstitch machine before. The instruction manual is ok for general info but watching some youtube videos on how to thread the machine and lock your stitches was much more helpful. I learned heaps and got a lot more out of my machine this way.

Highly recommended."

What sort of thread does this machine take?
Do I need to buy cones of thread, or can I use my normal spools?

It's up to you.

This machine takes cones or spools, so you can either use your sewing threads, or specialty threads on cones for overlockers.

See how the cone holders can be removed easily off the spool pins, which allows for smaller spools of thread to be used.

The main thing to keep in mind is whether your thread is suitable to the fabric you are using. When in doubt, do a little test on a scrap of the fabric you intend to use.

What is the difference between serging, overlock, flatlock and coverstitch?

In general, if you're from North America, you use a serger, and if you're from the UK, NZ, or Australia, then you use an overlocker. The two terms are interchangeable and both refer to the same type of machine.

"Serging" or "overlocking"  is the act of "sewing" using a serger / overlocker.

Overlocking or Overlock (stitch) refers to a 4 thread serge / overlock stitch.

Flatlock is a technique in which two pieces of fabric are serged / overlocked together and then pulled apart slightly to achieve a flat stitch which connects the two pieces of fabric.

Coverstitch is the stitch that you see on ready to wear garments at hem lines. Most commonly used for commercial finish in activewear. And this machine will help you achieve just that :-)

Does this model do "overlocking" as well ?

No. This machine does not overlock - or serge, as it is called in North America. It contains no blade, and isn't design to finish raw edges.

It is a cover hem machine that does two, three or four thread coverstitch varieties, specifically for hemming knits or stretch fabric in a commercial style that allows movements and stretch - while keeping the garment in shape.

To have BOTH coverstitch and overlocking in ONE machine, you need to buy an expensive, high-end model, or simly use a separate overlocker. Neither the overlocker or coverstitch replaces your sewing machine - they all serve a different purpose and compliment each other.

Do I still need a separate sewing machine and overlocker ?

Yes. This machine only does coverstitch, and it does NOT replace a regulare sewing machine or  an overlocker. You STILL need a sewing machine for seaming (and other things), and overlocker for finishing raw edges.

The main function of the CoverPro is to provide store-bought clothes finishing to your garment - especially essential for knit and stretch fabrics.

Just turn whatever you're wearing inside out and have a look - you'd see examples of coverstitch in everyday garments!

Sounds Good - but why wouldn't I buy directly from Janome?

Great question!

Here's something most people didn't know: Janome Australia doesn't deal directly with the public. Neither does Janome USA or Janome UK.

Actually, the authentic Janome website won't let you place orders. You can find all sorts of information there, but you won't find an "Add to Cart" button if you're looking at the real deal.

In case you come across any website with "Janome" in the name that you could buy from - chances are, you've found someone who'd like you to think that you're dealing directly with Janome Australia themselves. Which isn't the case.

Think about it for a second: when someone is prepared to hide the truth about who they really are, what else might they be hiding?

Check Out What Other Happy Janome CoverPro Owners Say About Their machines...

"This machine is amazing!

I did a lot of research before purchasing, and I'm confident I made a good choice. It was either this or the Brother, and what ultimately made the big difference is the free arm option and the wider neck space between the needles and body of the machine that Janome offers and Brother doesn't.

The machine came threaded and ready to use, no need to adjust tension or install needles. I haven't used the needle threader yet, but I'll give it a try sometime.

I've used this machine on lots of different weights and types of knit fabric, and it handles beautifully on all. It does take some practice on very lightweight knits to not have the tunneling, but practice first on scraps and adjust the tension as needed.

This machine makes hemming and topstitching garments so smooth and easy. I've only had it for a couple weeks, so I can't comment on durability, but it seems very sturdy, well-made, and reliable."

- Joyce, a Happy Customer

"Absolutely love this machine. For awhile I thought buying a coverstitch machine just to hem was a bit excessive, but I was tired with constantly switching my embroidery machine over to sewing, just to use a double needle to hem or topstitch.

Finally I bought the Janome Coverstitch. Well, I couldn't be happier!

It's very easy to rethread for different colours to match fabric. The beautiful stitches make my clothes look incredibly professional.

I reccommend this machine as one of the best purchases ever. In fact, I bought my daughter one as well!"

- Carolyn, a Happy Customer

"The Janome CoverPro machine is a luxury, for sure, but after you complete your first garment on it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

This took my sewing to a new level of greatness.

With this, my overlocker, and my sewing machine I can make a nice, finished garment while my kids watched Sat morning cartoons : ) You can't beat that. I love this machine."

- Ann, a Happy Customer

"I'm a fashion designer, and I use this machine to hem my knits and do top stitches on knit garments that I make for myself. Heres my review:

This machine is great for hemming. I bought it because I was tired of the stretched-out, puckered hems I was getting on my regular sewing machine (even after buying a walking foot). I was unsure about this purchase, as its really expensive, but after using it the first time, I was happy I bought it.

This machine is great for top stitching! I use it to top stitch waistbands and necklines, and its beautiful!

The machine is great for chain stitch! While my sewing machine was out for repairs, I had no way of doing simple straight stitches, this machine saved the day. Now I often use my overlocker and this for everything, exclusively.

The machine could seem intimidating, but once you use it, you'll love it!

Its so easy to use, and easy to figure out (read your manual and watch YouTube if you're stuck). Threading is SO easy! If fact, it's my easiest machine."

- Kate, a Happy Customer

"This is my first Janome. I've been using Singer for over 30 years and had not previously had any experience with Janome products, but because of the great reviews and reasonable price on the CoverPro 2000CPX I decided to give it a try.

I found it easy to thread, and reliable to stitch a good cover hem. That's all I want it to do and it does a great job. I am 100% satisfied. It arrived when it was promised to, and was packed to protect it during transit.

I love the cover stitch and love sewing knits. I get compliments all the time because of the professional finish on my garments. They look store bought! Thanks Janome!"

- Sharon, a Happy Customer

"This machine is the best. It's super easy to thread, and it's quiet unlike my old overlocker. It's fast and makes beautiful stitches.

The coverstitch is a must have for stretch fabric. Who needs and industrial machine when you have a Janome CoverPro, right?!"

- Mel, a Happy Customer

Now, Let's Get Your Order On Its Way To You!

How long will it take to receive my order?

All fully paid orders placed by 5pm Monday to Thursday will be processed overnight and ready to send by our warehouse - normally the next day or following business day.

Orders placed on Friday and Weekends will be processed on Sunday night - because our warehouse operates Monday to Friday except Public Holidays.

Once it leaves our warehouse, the actual time frame is up to the delivery services. This can vary depending on your location and road conditions.

Any delivery time estimates shown are estimates only - so please use it as a guide line.

You'll receive a few email updates from our system as your order progresses, so please stay tuned on these!

secure paymentHow will my order be sent?

We use a dispatch system that works out the most efficient way to send your order.

This way the postage works out fair and reasonable, and your parcel reaches you quickly as well - because we know you can't wait!

That means your parcel may reach you by either Courier or Aust Post.

In general, larger items tend to be delivered by couriers, while small items tend to go by Aust Post.

How is my postage calculated?

Great question.

Depending on weight and dimension, some times we are able to do Flat Rate across Australia, so the postage is the same no matter where you are.

Other times we use the Built-in Calculated system provided by Aust Post, and your postage is calculated based on YOUR location.

Can I get it delivered to my P.O. Box?

Depends on the item (and its dimensions), because Aust Post have size restrictions and couriers are NOT allowed to deliver to a P.O. Box.

Please check with us when in doubt.

If you have nominated a P.O. box, and the item is within Aust Post size, then it will go by Aust Post. Most of the time, this is the case.

When your item is too big, or being sent directly from our supplier, then we need you to provide a physical address so we can send a courier.

Can I get my order sent to a different delivery address?

Your sure can!

When you check out, you can choose to ship your order to your billing address or a different address.

Simply choose the second option, and then fill in the shipping address of where you want you parcel sent.

Please double check we have Your Correct Address so your order can find its way to you!

What if courier services are not available in my area?

Some locations are outside of courier services....

In these cases we CAN arrange for your order to be deliverd to your local post office.

But please provide us with a street address (street number & name) - even if it is the only Post Office in town - as if it is an office address.

A phone number would help too - this will avoid delays.

What if I need my order urgently?

No worries, we will do our best. Just let us know.

Please give us as much notice as possible - especially for special occasions like birthdays!

In most cases, we CAN arrange an upgrade from Regular Post to Express Post for a little extra.

Please contact us first so we can update your invoice to show the correct amount.

Do you offer combine shipping?
I want to order more than one item...

Sure! Please "Add to Cart" for all the items you want and let the system work it out for you.

If you're unsure, let us know. A quick message is all we need.

This way we can double check the postage for you. Simple!

Can I pick up my order?

No. Sorry - unless you're picking up furniture directly from our supplier.

Because most of our items are located in a commercial warehouse - with NO public acess.

There is no shop front - because that's how we can pass on the savings to you!

Some useful things you might want to know:

    • Combined Shipping - We are happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases based on the combined weight and dimensions of your items, so add what you like to cart as you go, and check out our shop to see what else you like... you never know what you might find!

    • All items we sell are Stored in a Clean and Smoke Free Environment so You can Rest Asured they will be In Top Condition when they arrive at your place.

    • Packaging & Sending - All your items will be packed well and we do everything we can to make sure you package arrives safely. In the unlikely event something does go wrong with your package, please contact us via email. We do our best to resolve any concerns.

    • Prompt Shipping - Your package will be sent to you promptly once payment is cleared. In most cases it will be dispatched the next business day.

    • Packaging Materials - We endeavour to support "green policies" and recycle clean packaging materials whenever possible. Brand names on packaging material may not necessarily match the content.

!!! IMPORTANT !!!
The Courier Needs Your Phone Number

When you're completing check-out please make sure your best day time phone number is included - because the courier requires a phone number.

Generally they may never ring you -  and they tend to just turn up anyway. But their office needs to have your phone number on file for "just-in-case".

If you have any special delivery instructions, please let us know.

It is best to providing these details by sending us a quick message - this means your parcel will be dispatched to you faster.

Love it!
By: on 8 October 2020

bought this as an early birthday and Christmas present for myself as I have been doing a lot of sewing with knits during lockdown here in Melbourne. Was very nervous using for the first time, but sewed beautifully, feels so solid, and loved that it came pre-threaded and ready to sew. Easy to thread, needle threads are just like a sewing machine, and I tied my looper thread onto the existing looper thread and pulled through (set tension to 0) so absolutely no issue threading that either. Have loved using it to hem tops and pants, looks so professional.

Looking for a cover stitch machine on line I found the site Sew much easier. Checking out their prices I found them to be quite reasonable. I ordered the Janome Cover Pro 2000CPX Coverstitch machine. The service was great and I received my machine within a short time. Great service and very happy with my machine. Awesome.
