How to Quilt Straight Line without a Guide

Sewing Hack: How to Quilt Straight Lines

without a Quilting Guide

This is an old trick - but I use it all the time :-)

If you plan to cross-hatch straight lines with your waking foot, and your walking foot does not have one of those little guides, it can be tricky to stay parallel....

The trick is surprisingly simple - use painter's tape!

Simply run your stitches along the side, then peel it off - and voila!
Perfectly straight lines!

This works just as well for hand quilting too!

Now, a little confession: I love using painter's tape so much, I've not touched the quilting guide that came with my walking foot in all these years I've been quilting :-)

Until next time, Happy Sewing!
